Worldwide, 780 million people do not have access to an improved water source (Source: WHO). More than 40% of the world’s population will be living in areas of “severe” water stress by 2050. At Vasanti Health we are focused on sustainable solutions to the water crisis taking place around the globe. We believe access to clean drinking water and sanitation are human rights.

WHY INDIA?
India has a population of over 1.2 billion people. This growing population is a severe strain on the country’s natural resources, including water. With global support, India’s access to water has improved over the years. However, this access has wide disparities, including gender and socio-economic barriers. Furthermore, sanitation continues to be a major concern. In some areas of India, only 30% of the community has improved sanitation facilities (Source: NFHS). Most water sources are contaminated by sewage and agricultural runoff.
India has 18% of the world’s population, but only 4% of global water resources.
Using a three prong approach and your help, Vasanti Health promotes clean water initiatives by supporting community-led education, advocacy, and technology programs. This is one small way we can say thanks to a vibrant culture that has enriched our lives with the healthfulness, mindfulness and spirituality of Ayurveda.
